The Burj Dubai, due to be completed later this year, holds the record for the tallest man-made structure ever built. It has 160 habitable floors, with a total height of 2,684 feet, making it 621 feet taller than the KVLY-TV mast in North Dakota, formerly the worlds tallest man-made structure (though it isn’t freestanding). However, the official record won’t be recognized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat until the Burj Dubai is completed.
