POTD: Enzo on Fire
The Ferrari Enzo is, without a doubt, one of the finest pieces of automotive engineering to emerge from Maranello in the past 20 years. In fact many would argue it is, from a purist’s standpoint, one of the most amazing cars ever built. 399 were produced, each with a naturally aspirated V12 producing 651 hp. They also seem to be a favorite for people to wreck — the most famous of which is Eddie Griffin’s Enzo wreck, caught on video. See it below.
The one on fire seen in the pictures above is in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia, Canada. Apparently the driving was a tad exuberant, but I can’t imagine it was anywhere near as severe as track-day driving can be. That aside, it really is terrible to see such a priceless (about a million dollars in auction, actually, but forget it) automobile burning to a crisp.
