Sailfish grow to 10ft. 68mph equals 99ft per second.
About 10 body lengths per second covered.
That would be one very fast Sailfish if it could cover 90 body lengths in a second!!!

The SSC Ultimate Aero is no longer the fastest production car. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport took the title with a speed of 267.91 mph (431.16 kph)

I knew Col. George T. Morgan in the late '70's and his personal comments always included "acknowledged speed record." He was a picture post card of what an Air Force officer should be, relatively small of stature, trim, close cropped hair, always affable and totally discreet. He also set trans continental and trans Atlantic speed records in the Blackbird. I used to ask him "how things were in Cuba this week?" to which he would look at the ceiling and say, "Cuba?, ....Cuba?....Cuba....????" Never got an answer.

The other one I always like with George was a discussion I had briefly with him one evening after Jane's revealed the the Blackbird had new state of the art GE compressors. I said, "The Air Force has claimed the the SR-71 is a Mach 3 airplane."

George replied, "That's pretty godd information."

So I persisted, "In reviewing the specs of the new compressors as released in Jane's, it appears that the SR-71 might well be Mach 5?"

George's reply, "That's pretty good information."

He retired with the decommissioning of the Blackbird and was planning to open a Marina. I have not spoken to him or seen him since as we got on with our lives. A good guy.
