A lighter is held under a blank CD (not one does not have anything burned on it yet, simply a piece of plastic in the shape of a CD), and then air is blown into the area with the melted plastic. The results vary, but in most cases the initial bubble looks very cool. Below is the video which started the craze, and a gallery of some of the results. The second and fifth pictures are examples of people who used a normal CD and it shows how poorly it works.
