Wonderful Magnetic Curtain
Quite an ingenious design, the fabric has magnets built in so that you can shape the curtain in any way you want. No more fussing with strings to get the curtain to drop the last foot. It is not available yet, but is being produced by Droog Design.

This is an amazing product. I want to play with it.

These will interfere with every single electronic device in your house. Ingenious? I think not.

Quite ingenious.
But what do the magnets stick to? And what happens when someone wearing metals etc walk by?
Still very clever

@ ntimid8
The magnets are so small they would not interfere with electronics in your house. Even other electronics make small electric fields as current is flowing through wires.
@ Vijay
The tiny metal things built into the curtains are the magnets, and they stick to each other. The magnets are strong enough to stick to each other, but the only way they would effect a person walking by with metal on them is if they were very close and it would only stick for a second.

These tiny magnets will NOT interfere with all the electronic equipment in your place. What an IGNORANT suggestion! Get a clue about science!

Cool idea, but they’re ugly.

Very original but it doesn’t look very neat, kind of ragged and haphazard. I suppose that appeals to some but I wonder if the curtains could fold into a neater design also? The convenience would be compromsised i suppose but it’d probably look a good deal sharper in most settings.

wow. that was aggressive. eh, this is interesting, that’s for sure.

It just looks untidy to me.

I know, I just can use any electronics in my house after I put all those tiny magnets on my refrigerator

If you think a collection of tiny magents will interfere with electronic devices then please remove all speaker from your house (those have magnets in them) Then you should only ever have one electrical device running at a time as they all generate a magnetic field, this will mean not having your monitor on at the same time as your computer. Also be sure to throw out any fridge magnets you might have.

what happens if the magnets stick by themselves when you’re not home, then, when you bring company home, they’re all crazy weird?
June 21st, 2009 at 5:53 pm
I think that they are so weak that they will only stick when you bring them together, not if they are at rest, so they would have to be disturbed by something, still, awesome. I would want to get one without the curtain rod so I could just sculpt cool shapes.

Magnetic Curtain? I think it is kind of cool, like the X-men bad guy Magneto? Although I am sure that if you have lots of small tiny magnets they have the same pull as a large magnet right? Drawing the person who has metal on them closer and closer.

Awesome silly thought Randy. What would happen if you re-hung the curtains backwards after taking them down to clean. Would they repel themselves and fall apart?

how cool!!! but DON’T put any VHS tapes or Cassette tapes near it!
