MLB 2K10 Prize
Have you always wanted to win a ton of money by sitting on your couch playing video games? If so, you had an opportunity when Major League Baseball 2K10 was first released. Called the “Perfect Game Challenge”, Take-Two said they would pay the first person to pitch a perfect game one million dollars. Yes, that’s right, one million dollars.
Since none of the developers at Take-Two were able to accomplish the feat, they brazenly figured it was an excellent challenge for the masses and set about marketing it as the challenge of a life time. Enter Wade McGilberry, a 23-year old from Alabama.
Within 24 hours of purchasing the game, the day it came out, McGilberry had successfully completed the challenge, throwing a perfect game. Meanwhile, Take-Two had been unable to secure insurance for this bet, as no one was able to figure out the chances of this occurring. Obviously, they weren’t that low, as it only took one day for someone to successfully complete the challenge.
I’m jealous, wish I had his luck.
