These sculptures are made by wood sculpture Randy Boni using a chainsaw, and he is considered to be one of the best chainsaw artists in the country. He only works on dying or damaged trees because he feels it “preserves some remembrance of the tree” with his carvings, and he is does not believe in cutting live and healthy trees down to create art. Some examples of his work are shown below, and looking at the final product it is easy to believe that he is one of the most talented at his craft.

   I have found that to keep my chainsaw running the right way I need to do a lot of maintenance. It is a good idea to always check the fluids, bar oil, and keep your chain sharp. This makes it easier to use and is safer as well. If anyone else has any tips I’d be happy to hear them.
