Album of the Week: Offspring Greatest Hits

Once again, I’m venturing into the vast genre of rock for this week’s featured album. I know many people don’t consider Greatest Hits compilations true albums, but there are so many great Offspring songs spread throughout their CD’s that this was the only way to do them all justice.

I really enjoy listening to The Offspring because they manage to pull songs together perfectly. They have an upbeat drum beat, tight guitar solos and background and the lyrics for the songs are very catchy. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” stick in my head. Of course, after writing that, I’ve managed to ingrain the chorus of the song into my brain, once again.

It’s difficult to pick a couple of songs out of the mix, but I enjoy listening to “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid”, “Self Esteem” and “The Kids Aren’t Alright” the most out of all the songs on the album. That’s not to say there aren’t other brilliant songs on the album, but those are my favorites. The video for the “The Kids Aren’t Alright” is below, enjoy!
