Time-Lapse of Fruit and Vegetables

Below is a time-lapse video of fruit and vegetables decomposing on a plate. The effect was created by taking one picture every 40 minutes for 74 days and stringing them together at 30 fps. The black dots flitting across the screen are fruit flies that lay their eggs on decomposing fruit so that their larvae can feed on the microorganisms that decompose the fruit, as well as on the sugar of the fruit itself.

The following is a video of rotting fruit, if you are grossed out by things like this I suggest not watching it.

This goes to show how boring onions really are, especially compared to the potato. The video was made using a Canon PowerShot S3 IS and GBTimelapse software.

If it is taking too long to load you can watch a lower quality version here.
