POTD: Tokyo Flood Control System

Tokyo, home to over 12,000,000 people and sitting right on the Pacific Ocean, is highly susceptible to tsunami and flood damage if there was a major storm. To protect against that possible catastrophe the Japanese government has created an incredible flood control and storage system, which would drain the city and transport the water away if the city was at risk of going underwater. It looks amazing, vaguely Matrix-y. I’d love to play hide-and-go-seek there, though when I weigh that possible fun against the risk of getting lost in gigantic tunnels under Tokyo — I think I’d probably stay above ground. Check it out.
