Hot Fuss: Album of the Week
I’ve decided that this week I would branch out a little bit from the usual rap scene. I’ve chosen Hot Fuss by the Killers for this weeks album, and boy is it a good one. Almost everyone has heard of the single “Mr. Brightside”, yet the entire album is filled with the same high quality music. The drum lines are amazing, while the guitar lends a calming, peaceful air to the album.
I mostly listen to this when I need to focus for homework because it isn’t in your face musically. It has a soothing quality which few other musicians can achieve. The only others I can think of are Alexi Murdoch and Phil Collins, who are also great artists. So the next time you have a looming deadline, hit up one of those three artists and you will produce a masterpiece of work, guaranteed.
It’s extremely difficult for me to pick my top few tracks because I enjoy listening to almost all of them. For the sake of this article, I’ll go ahead and choose the songs I’ve listened to most frequently. “Jenny was a Friend of Mine” would probably top that list, closely followed by “Smile Like You Mean It”. However, you really just need to listen to the entire album to get a feel for the music.
Check back next week for some more sweet tunes, probably moving back to the rap genre for a little while. If you have any requests, send me an email at drizzit12@supertightstuff.com.
