The Eminem Show: Album of the Week
This week’s album of the week is going way back, to one of the first CD’s I’ve ever owned. The Eminem Show by, you guessed it, Eminem is one of my favorite albums because all of the songs can be listened to and enjoyed. In the current day and age, there is no other album that I can say the same about. The current era of rappers are, for the most part, one hit wonders. At the highest levels, a rapper may produce a couple of hot tracks per album, but this is a rare occurrence.
I’m going to start off by talking about the two tracks I don’t enjoy, other than the skits. My two least favorite songs are Drips and My Dad’s Gone Crazy just because Eminem isn’t the focus or he’s trying to do something different on the track. For every other song, Eminem’s lyrics flow well and inspire thought, while the bass filled beats keep your body in rhythm.
My favorite tracks on the album would have to be When the Music Stops and Say Goodbye Hollywood. Both of these songs are laced with a moral, down to Earth Eminem which gives the songs much more meaning. I’d put Eminem up with the best underground rappers for the quality of his lyrics, yet most of his content isn’t just drugs and sex. You can purchase his album here. What do you know its Eminem or should I say Marshall Bruce Mathers III. Lately I’ve become his number one devotee and can not get too much gossip or articles about his appearances. Have to admit that the posting relating to Eminem attracted my attention as I have not visited previously. As his father abandoned his home when he was an infant the media years has been chance for large earnings and media coverage which he has taken well, keeping off the ruin with too much reporting and pressure experienced by other celebrities. Admired his previous releases The Eminem Show, although the contents sometimes are onerous. Dark overtones and not making for a happy world.
