Taylor Mays Ridiculous Hit

We’re all about Seattle here at supertightstuff — and Taylor Mays is a local. He graduated from O’Dea high school in 2006, and in this clip he absolutely destroys Justin Norwood, a Penn State receiver, in the Rose Bowl. Norwood was knocked unconscious and had to be half carried off the field. This is one of the hardest hits I’ve seen, both in college and pro football. This is a super tight video, and if you didn’t see it live or haven’t seen the re-plays, definitely worth the watch. The actual hit starts at around 45 seconds into the clip. We should emphasize that this was a personal foul, and is illegal helmet to helmet contact (known as spearing). It’s also extraordinarily dangerous, and though we like the fact Mays is a Seattleite, we don’t respect rampant disregard of the rules that endangers other players. In any case — watch it.
